Expect the (Un)expected
It’s less than four weeks away until the Pioneers Festival – Europe’s most amazing Start-up and Tech Event with people travelling to Vienna from all over the world in order to participate. I’d say it’s about time to get your business cards printed, to put your thinking caps on, pack your scariest Halloween costume and prepare yourself for two days of pure awesomeness!
There is A LOT going on during the festival days. In order to help you to schedule your time properly, I’ll give you a brief overview of what to expect:
For most of you (Conference, Developers, Students Passes and Start-up Tickets) the Festival is going to start on Conference Day I, October 30th, at the Hofburg Palace. From the beginning on and throughout Pioneers Festival, there will be two tracks: Trailblazers Track and Startup Academy. Trailblazers Track hosts key note speakers, panel discussions and talks on different topics, in addition to the Clash of the Founders and the Pioneers Challenge Finale. The Startup Academy on the other hand, is all about accelerating your entrepreneurial skills within two days. During the Start-up Classes, you will be provided with know-how, experiences and meaningful advice from world-class mentors.
The Investors Day will take place one day prior to the Conference Days — this is a day dedicated to the Pioneers’ Challenge Top 50 start-ups and Investors; hence you either have to be among the Top 50 or buy an Investors Pass to participate. But no worries, you’ll get the chance to see stunning pitches: On Conference Day II, October 31st, the grand finale takes place whereby the ELITE eight start-ups will present their venture in front of all of us.

Furthermore, there will be a bunch of free side events that you can join at any time from October 29th to October 31st all over Vienna and even abroad, including London and Portugal. To give you an idea of what’s going on: Pioneers Festival is teaming up with Dreamstake in London, to discuss the vibrant start-up scene there and in Vienna. Additionally, the European Entrepreneurship Foundation and Startup Pirates are organizing a gathering of entrepreneurs for networking and discussions, not to mention watching the movie, ‘Something ventured’.
Last but not least there are going to be breaks during the program to give you the chance to do some networking, to eat some food and enjoy a few drinks — all part of your ticket price. You will also be able to check out the venue, party like Pioneers at night in cool clubs, showing all in Vienna that we not only know how to do business, but that we are also young, wild and free — knowing how to party ‘til dawn!
This project has been supported by ZIT, the Technology Agency of the City of Vienna.
